Bridgewater Class at Woore Fruit Farm
In the lead-up to Halloween, Bridgewater class enjoyed a delightful trip to Woore Fruit Farm, exploring the pumpkin patch and harvesting pumpkins for their secret garden. A special thank you to Mr. Campbell for joining us and to Woore Fruit Farm for their generous pumpkin donation.
We also came together to celebrate the Harvest Festival, where our Year 11s proudly received their Peer Mentor sweatshirts, recognizing their role as Ambassadors. The school choir sang a beautiful Harvest song, followed by a thoughtful segment on Harvest Festival traditions and the vital work of the Foodbank. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the Foodbank!
Each class took part in designing and carving pumpkins, with special guests from the Shaw Education Trust, Mrs. Pimblett and Miss Cartwright, judging the creative designs. After much anticipation, Dylan from Moorcroft was announced the overall winner, though all entries were fantastic.
Clarice Class Trip to Bobby’s Ice-Cream Parlour
On Monday, Clarice class took a trip to Bobby’s Ice-Cream Parlour to deliver their self-made scarecrows, “Clarice and Cliffy,” as part of a community project. After a fun minibus ride, the students greeted friendly farm animals like pigs, alpacas, goats, donkeys, and geese. They explored the farm, experienced a JCB digger and a tractor, and admired the pumpkin patch before marking the occasion with a group photo.
The day ended with a delicious lunch in the café where students placed their own orders and enjoyed pies, sausage rolls, cake, and ice-cream. They did a wonderful job representing the school and had positive interactions in a new environment.
This term has been full of hands-on learning, creativity, and community spirit. Well done to all our students!
